ประวัติแฮนด์บอล (Handball) เริ่มต้นมาจากประเทศเยอรมัน ในราวปลายศตวรรษที่ 19 โดยครูพลศึกษาคนหนึ่งชื่อ Konrad Koch ได้ริเริ่มและแนะนำกีฬาประเภทนี้ออกมาเผยแพร่
